Greg Massey

Greg Massey becomes Head of Programs at Zurich

Greg Massey, previously Head of the Property and Casualty line of business for Zurich North America, has been named Head of Programs.

Joining the Alternative Markets senior leadership team, Greg now is responsible for managing and driving the overall success of Zurich’s Programs business, including Diversified Programs, Catastrophe/Excess & Surplus Programs, Segmented Programs, Construction Programs, Programs Sales and New Programs.

Greg brings more than 35 years of experience to the role. Since joining Zurich in 2009, Greg has served as Director of Technical Underwriting for North America, Chief Underwriting Officer for Commercial Markets and Head of Field Operations overseeing Zurich Integrated Products (ZIP) in the western U.S.

“Greg was successful in all these leadership roles due to his ability to collaborate with internal teams and distributors, understand the insurance need and provide customer-focused solutions,” said David Putz, Head of Alternative Markets. “His strong technical expertise and market-facing leadership skills will greatly benefit our Programs business.”

“Given our significance in the program space, my priority is to leverage our well-positioned reputation, presence and program administrator relationships to grow Programs profitably in North America,” Greg said. “We have the technical capability and innovative leadership across our organization in bringing solutions to our distribution partners and customers domestically and globally; that’s our distinguishable difference in helping us grow our Programs portfolio.”

Greg is active in the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society at local and national levels and serves on the board of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research’s Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) program. At Zurich, Greg was named a KAMP Leadership Award winner in 2017.

Prior to joining Zurich, Greg spent 12 years at Selective Insurance Group serving in various regional market-facing roles and leading the property and casualty lines of business.

Greg holds a Master of Business Administration from the Keller School of Management in Chicago, a Master of Science in organizational leadership from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Denver.


Jay DeVincentis

Jay DeVincentis becomes East Region Property Leader for Zurich NACI

Jay DeVincentis is moving into the role of East Region Property Leader for Zurich North America Commercial Insurance (NACI) – Corporate Property.

Based in New York, Jay will work closely with clients and brokers, listening to their needs, collaborating to deliver the right solutions and growing NACI’s business in the region.

A five-year veteran of Zurich, Jay most recently was Property Area Manager, based in Boston. He also worked as a Senior Underwriter. Prior to joining Zurich, he spent 21 years at FM Global where he held various roles including senior account manager, manager of policy forms and procedures, senior adjuster and loss prevention engineer.

“Jay brings strong knowledge and experience in managing large books of business and providing leadership for the Property business unit,” said Richard Montminy, Head of Property for Zurich NACI. “I am excited to have Jay as part of my executive team.”

“As a Regional Leader for Property, I’ll be uniquely positioned as a help point for agents, brokers and customers,” Jay said. “I look forward to assisting them in determining their insurance needs and by providing innovative Zurich products, services and solutions.”

Jay holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.


Lillian Labbat

Lillian Labbat joins Zurich as Global Head of Trade Credit & Political Risk

Zurich welcomes Lillian Labbat as Global Head of Trade Credit & Political Risk. Lillian previously held executive roles in global trade, export finance and credit structuring with J.P. Morgan, BNP Paribas and Citigroup.

Most recently, Lillian was managing partner and co-founder of Metis Markets, a financial advisory firm with a focus on fundraising and structured finance solutions for global businesses. She has extensive experience in both financing and insurance, dealing with brokers, official agencies and global customers.

In her role at Zurich, Lillian will be accountable for the direction, management and performance of the Trade Credit & Political Risk unit, which is part of Specialty Products in North America Commercial Insurance. The underwriting teams are located in the Americas, London, Continental Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Lillian is based in New York.

“Lillian brings to Zurich a unique perspective as both a seller and a buyer of political risk and trade credit products,” said Brian Winters, Head of Specialty Products for Zurich North America Commercial Insurance. “That positions her well to ensure our risk appetite remains competitive, while closely managing our exposures.”

Zurich Trade Credit & Political Risk provides political risk and trade credit insurance for financial institutions, multinational corporations, investors, exporters, contractors and infrastructure developers globally.

“I have always been impressed with Zurich as a leader in the insurance market and wanted to be part of a growing and evolving global organization,” Lillian said. “My priorities are to position Zurich as a leader in credit and political risks while managing our risk appetite.”

Lillian earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from New York University’s Stern School of Business and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in finance from St. John’s University in New York.

Raquel Rendon


Raquel Rendon becomes Business Development Leader for Metro New York Area

Raquel Rendon, previously a Senior Account Executive with Zurich’s Construction Underwriting team, has been named Business Development Leader for the Metro New York Area.

Raquel, who holds MBA and JD degrees, has worked at Zurich for almost eight years. For the past two years in Underwriting, Raquel focused on Construction Professional Liability and Cyber Liability products in the Mid-Atlantic Area. Before that, she worked as a Zurich Claims Specialist.

“Raquel will be focusing on our Select Brokers in New Jersey, Westchester and New York City to ensure alignment with our business units and to deliver profitable growth,” said Thomas J. Trullinger, Area Executive, Mid-Atlantic Area. “She brings over 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry to this role.”

Her first priority is listening to and understanding her assigned brokers’ needs in areas of focus such as property, healthcare and financial institutions and across business units such as Construction and Middle Markets.

“I like people, and I enjoy insurance, and my new role is ideal as it allows me to build relationships and use my experience and education to drive results,” Raquel said. “I know Zurich and how it works, and I enjoy being out there marketing what we have to offer.”

Raquel also has held positions with Ace as a claims specialist, with Chubb as an executive protection underwriter and with The Graham Company as a claims consultant.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in American history from Princeton University, a law degree from Fordham University and a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University. Raquel recently earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation (CPCU). See how her background led her to Zurich.
